We stopped here by chance while looking for a late dinner with paella on our last night. As we were looking at the menu, a member of staff came over and invited us to sit down. Another lady, potentially the owner, then took our order. We asked whether it was too late to order a paella, and she replied, "It's never too late," so we ordered a couple of starters and a seafood paella to share. The starters were tasty, although they were served extremely cold. When the main course arrived, however, we immediately felt it was a seafood risotto rather than a traditional paella. I wanted to mention this discreetly, without disturbing the last table behind us who were enjoying their evening, but all the staff had disappeared and were busy moving furniture and working on the closing duties. As we were very hungry, we ate the meal anyway. Unfortunately, a few hours later I became very unwell, experiencing severe vomiting and diarrhoea. Because we were due to fly home late the following evening, I ended up paying for an extra day at a hotel so I would have somewhere to stay during the day if needed. I contacted the restaurant afterwards to explain what had happened, but I never received any response, which was particularly disappointing. Based on my experience, I would not return and cannot recommend this restaurant as it is a tourist trap! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €30–40 Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 1

The paella was decent but the meat was good. The rice was overly seasoned with condiments and the food was overpriced. The atmosphere was beautiful and the service excellent but I’m not sure I’ll return. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €20–30 Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We visit L'Estrop at the start and end of each Roses vacation, the food and welcome are amazing every time. We took mum in a wheelchair in peak season and they accommodated her every time, without fuss, which was so amazing. We have lost mum noe, but we got back each time and remember how kind they were. Great location, staff and food. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €50–60 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
