This place is sooo comercial. I rarely experienced something like this. They really try to financialy squize you like a sponge. Ok, the location is nice, the vibe is cool. But the level of arrogance that is present here, is really shocking. The staff is super unfriendly and not attentive at all. Don't know how to smile or how to have fun. On top of the price that you pay to just "be" here, they also maintain a self service policy. So you basically laying loads of money just for the location. What a scam. Do you self a favor and look for something a bit more authentic. Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 4

Lichthaus is one of those places where you immediately realise the usual rules don’t really apply. It’s equal parts cool and carefree, and very comfortable doing its own thing. We went on the first day of the year, which felt fitting, because it came with a couple of firsts for us too. For the first time ever, we had to pay for dinner when making the reservation (KES 22,000), with no refunds or credits if you don’t use it all. Slightly unusual, but it works here. The space isn’t just a restaurant—it overlooks the creek and also includes a café and a small gift shop, so there are plenty of ways to make use of it. The other first was much more fun: jumping straight from our reserved area into the water and swimming back. My daughter jumped in the water at least 20 times! The tide was stronger than expected, but there are stairs if you’d rather not go full send. The food is colourful, simple and well done - skewers cooked over coals, full of flavour, with colourful salads alongside. Drinks were made exactly as ordered, which always earns points. All ordered at the bar and then you wait for your name to be called out. This is really a sundowner spot. We arrived around 1pm with kids and the team was still setting up after closing at 6am the night before. By the time we left at about 3:30pm, it was getting busy and a bit cramped, with a mostly younger crowd rolling in. Relaxed, unconventional, and not trying too hard. Definitely worth visiting!

What a great experience! Cool atmosphere on the edge of Mida Creek. The food is simple but very well done and the cocktails were great. We went early evening and kinda saw a sunset (it was a bit overcast) but had a great evening. It is very crowded and hectic, so be prepared. We booked a 'net' over the creek, but I think a table would have been better (eating and drinking while sitting on a net strung across two poles is tricky!) Price per person: KES 5,000+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
