Wanted to try this restaurant since it’s been operating for years. So we came early—7.45am, fresh and innocent. Sat outside for two seconds and immediately got bullied by flies. So we moved inside. Found a nice table. Sat down. Peaceful moment. Suddenly uncle CCTV mode activated . Stared at us like we stole the table. Next thing you know, he reports to one makcik, and wahhh her volume was next level: “Eh sana! Sudah reserve! Ada orang sudah reserve!” EXCUSE ME? Rude? Style? Talent for loudspeaker? I don’t know. But the whole restaurant definitely heard our “eviction notice.” And hello—no RESERVE sign on the table. Nothing. Zero. Kosong. We moved politely (because we are well-raised humans), but inside my heart fire shooting out of my ears like a dragon. Too bad nobody can see the special effects. I asked the staff why we were instructed to move. She said: “Oh a group always comes after their morning jog and they sit there.” Oh wow. So apparently the table has season pass holders. Are they paying rent? They bought the table on Shopee is it? Or their grandfather’s table? Anyway, we left early—before the VIP jogging squad arrived to claim THEIR royal seating area. I tell you ah I paling pantang when people come and instruct after we already sat down. Reserve pun takda, but voice volume reserve for stadium. And then came the food. The food? They proudly said “homemade bread.” Homemade? Okay fine but the bread was so hard I almost checked if they baked it last week. And the kaya SO. MUCH. KAYA. One bite only I felt like can hear diabetes whispering, “Hi girl, surprise!” Kopi panas? Ya panas in spirit. In reality, it was warm-warm like someone blew on it before serving. I didn’t know coffee could be shy to be hot. Honestly, after experiencing their “reserved for jogging royalty” table drama, plus the hard bread and lukewarm coffee I think the flies outside were the only ones enjoying themselves. Finally after all the table drama, the bread saga, and the shy kopi, I waited outside while they handled the bill. And guess what? An auntie who was preparing noodles looked up, smiled warmly and asked, “Sudah makan?” Awww. OK la auntie YOU I give Five stars for the smile. At least someone in that restaurant passed basic humanity and customer service. If only her smile could soften the bread, heat up the coffee, and lower the kaya sugar level this place might actually have potential. Price per person: RM 1–20 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
