I enjoyed my experience at Lin Ka. This is a modern interpretation on traditional Cantonese food. I am of Southern Chinese heritage. The flavors are very reminiscent of Cantonese style dishes, but since this is a modern interpretation there are some liberties taken with some ingredients and presentation, which is acceptable. Some constructive criticism: wine service; although wine is not typically served with Chinese meals, if you offer a wine service there are some rules, the wine is uncorked at the table with the label facing the guest. The guest who selects the wine is given a small pour 0.5 ounce for tasting to make sure the wine is not corked/spoiled. Once it has been approved the other guests are served a conventional pour 3-5 ounces first and the person who ordered the wine gets served last. The volume of pour will depend on how many guests there are so it is portioned appropriately. Usually large parties of 4 or more people, the guests may order a second bottle. In terms of serving wine, after the person who ordered has tested the wine, the full pour is given to them last. Serving is done in a clockwise fashion. Always serving on the guests’ right side unless they are left handed. In a crowded table arrangement pouring wine on the left side of the guest is acceptable. Also my business partner is left handed. In Asia being left handed is quite rare, but it is always nice when staff is vigilant if a guest is left handed so that the silverware or chop sticks are on the left hand side. Again these are European traditions, so I am not going to give any negative remarks about this in a Chinese restaurant. Most important thing is the service and the taste of the food. The waiting staff were friendly and were accommodating even though we spoke very little Japanese. This is why I am giving a 5 star review. I enjoyed my experience and would dine here again. Also I will learn more Japanese so that I become more fluent. Thank you for a wonderful meal. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ¥10,000+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
