What a disappointment. We came here with high hopes, and after dropping $60 for a family of 4, we ended up going across the street to the bbq shop (Fat Matt’s) to finish our meal. Little Rey is an interesting concept. They have various types of booze, beer and margaritas alike. If that’s your thing, you will likely overlook the mediocre food. This variety of alcohol is not common for a counter serve Mexican restaurant. We skipped any drinks and settled for water (they were out of most sodas). Despite that, $60 was just not enough to get us any food that satisfied us. The smoked wings were charred beyond edible. Manager did bring us a new batch that was less burnt, so we appreciated the prompt attention. The tacos are way too expensive for what they are and not fulfilling at all. The menu is very limited, skipping some Mexican staples like tortas(except for one spicy fried chicken variant), quesabirria, fajitas or tamales… Little Rey is trying to be a Mexican counter serve with very interesting post -Spanish twist around the edges. We think they aren’t pulling it off. We will definitely avoid Little Rey especially if we are hungry. Now, I will give credit to wait staff, and the salsa bar that was very nice. The atmosphere is clean and above average modern as well. If you are having a date and drink some alcohol and drop $80 for two people,I think Little Rey might satisfy you. — one reviewer posted he bought $80 worth of food for just himself to feel full, yet I will ask you why not go to Fogo De Chao and eat endless meat for less then? We did observe many couples dining during a Sunday afternoon. Good for them, not for us.
