Local is an outstanding restaurant in Venice that offers a unique fusion of Venetian and Japanese cuisine. The menu, crafted by chef Matteo Tagliapietra, is full of creative dishes that use the freshest local ingredients. The restaurant offers two tasting menus: the Local with five courses and Identity with seven courses. Extremely disappointing experience, especially for a Michelin-starred restaurant. We came with high expectations, but the food was honestly terrible. The tasting menu was completely underwhelming, several dishes were poorly balanced, some combinations simply did not work, and there were courses we didn’t even want to finish. At this level and at this price point, this is simply unacceptable. There was a complete lack of attention and genuine hospitality throughout the evening. Nobody seemed interested in whether we were enjoying the food or whether everything was okay. Most surprisingly, at the end of the dinner, no one even bothered to ask for our feedback or how we had enjoyed the experience. At a restaurant of this level, you are paying not only for food, but for the entire experience: attention to detail, hospitality and care for the guest. Unfortunately, we experienced none of that. One of the weakest fine-dining experiences I’ve had. I genuinely struggle to understand the Michelin star and the reputation. Definitely not worth the price, and absolutely not a place I would return to or recommend. Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

An Extraordinary Lunch Experience at Ristorante Local We had the most amazing lunch at Ristorante Local in Venice. We chose the 7-course tasting menu with wine pairing, and it was truly unforgettable from start to finish. Each dish was creative, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor — a perfect balance of modern technique and Venetian tradition. The wine pairings were incredibly thoughtful and elevated every course. Alessandra was fantastic — warm, knowledgeable, and even recommended an extra pairing for our pre-dessert cheese selection, which ended up being one of our favorite moments. The entire experience lasted about three hours, but it never felt rushed or drawn out — just perfectly paced and immersive. We left absolutely glowing and couldn’t stop talking about it the rest of the day. A Michelin-star experience through and through. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
