Stopped in for a drink 3 days ago and after checking out the menu decided we had to return! Four of us dined here on this Monday evening and had an excellent experience. Started with drinks in the bar, then made our way to the dining room. Starters were mussels (salty morsels of goodness in a succulent broth best mopped up with the moist slices of bread) and squid (slightly over cooked). Our mains ranged from smoked haddock over mustard mash with creamed leeks, to prawn curry over rice, with an order of Seafood Ramen and a seafood stew in between. We all tried each dish and approved of every morsel (the plates were embarrassingly clean when we were done. You'd think that was a sign of full/satiated diners, but we decided to sample the rhubarb walnut crumble with custard for dessert, and didn't regret it. We were seated in a place where the kitchen crew was on display all evening, and that was entertaining and inspiring--very diligent/dedicated workers! I'd have to say that my only complaint was that we had to ask to get out water jug refilled twice rather than just relying on the wait staff to notice. This may be an American vs English issue though--they've still earned their 5 stars!

Friendliest staff - took our youngest (8) under their wing all evening and got him waiting on tables! He loved it. Don't go if you're in a rush. Do try the Seafood Tagliatelle.
