Great atmosphere, beautiful décor and quick service, however a disappointing experience overall. I ordered the fillet, rare (as recommended '45° - 50° sealed outside while centre is warm throughout') but received a stone cold centered piece of meat that was verging on blue. Once notifying staff it was taken away without an apology or any sort of communication. The waitress returned pretty swiftly and told me that the steak was cooked "rare" as ordered, and when we questioned why it was cold in the middle she told us that that is how rare is, and if i wanted it cooked more it would become more medium rare. Upon receiving the new fillet it was cooked medium/well. We did not send it back a second time because the waitress's attitude towards our requests the first time made us feel stupid, and we did not want the agro. I was expecting great things as i had been recommended this restaurant for its stunning food and good service but was left feeling like i never want to visit again due to the experience.

As a side note the prawn tempura starter was mushy on the inside with very little flavour and the balsamic reduction that was drizzled over the starters was unnecessary.

I've never had great service at London Road Bar & Grill but this was eclipsed on Friday. We arrived at the bar for a drink and when I asked for a table for 7, the waiter told me to "calm down love". Needless to say, I was completely calm before he said this. Also, has this sentence actually ever calmed someone down?Incredibly patronising and I won't be going back.The cocktails are nice but the food is overpriced and average.
