Old lady that works weekends is a miserable hag that complained the entire time and should probably retire if she hates her life that much! This is our second encounter with her. Always nasty! We won't be back as long as she's the waitress!!! Food: 5 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3

Wow!  My wife and I recently rode the bike here to have breakfast after hearing great things and we weren't disappointed. I have received some mean PM's in the past because I gave some place like this a 5 star rating.  Please realize that I give the Long Branch 5 stars based on what it is, which is a fantastic, old school, small town cafe and saloon.  It's not a white linen tablecloth type of place with a bathroom attendant.  By 5 stars I don't mean to imply it's fancy, as some rating systems base stars on. The Long Branch Cafe & Saloon is all that is great about small town cafe's that have stood the test of time.  When we visited it was pretty busy, and most of the diners seemed like they were probably locals, and there were tables full of them.  Amazingly friendly service.  The entire place is spotlessly clean, the dining area, bathrooms, etc.  It's obviously owned and run by folks that care and take pride in their business.  The breakfast selections are many, and all sounded great.  If you get something with gravy you have a choice of 4 types of gravy. I had the hash, and you get to choose the meat or to have all of it. I went for the "all of it", which I believe was bacon, ham and sausage, with a biscuit and sausage gravy instead of toast.  I am searching to find a word adequate to describe how truly delicious and well prepared the hash was. It was THAT good.  The hash-browns it was served over were cooked to perfection with just the right amount of crispness.  I ordered my eggs over hard and they were spot on.  BIG, plentiful chunks of sausage in the sausage gravy with my biscuit.  It was all I could do to eat everything, and it was delicious. Would order again without hesitation. My wife ordered their chicken fried steak, and thankfully she shared a bite or two with me.  Large portion, perfectly cooked and over the top delicious.  It's rare to find chicken fried steak this good any more.  The next time we go, and we will be going again, I will probably order the chicken fried steak myself. We both had bloody Mary's as well.  We are big fans of a good bloody Mary and have been disappointed more than once.  Not here.  Just the right spice level, a nice pimento and a spear of pickled asparagus.   They don't make them nearly this good most places any more.  If you enjoy a good bloody Mary, do yourself a favor and order one here. Our only decision is whether or not we want to go for breakfast or maybe lunch or dinner next time.  We've already talked about taking our kids because we know they would really enjoy this place.   This is everything you don't find in a chain place that's close to a major interstate. The atmosphere is unique and cool. There is a large collection of salt and pepper shakers, some antique baking soda tins, some old meat cleavers, etc.  It's not some designers idea of "faked retro", it's the real deal. I suspect a lot of the items have been in there for decades.  The building is from the 1870's.  It's hard to imagine how many farmers and ranchers have probably enjoyed meals here over the years, and obviously many still do.   Weston isn't a tourist type town, and to me, that's part of it's great charm, and the appeal of the Long Branch.  It's a town inhabited largely by hard working American's that probably know the names of every neighbor. It could have been featured in a Norman Rockwell painting.  If towns like that are something you enjoy then you need to make it a point to visit the Long Branch.  Now that we've tried it we plan to keep going back.  A bit of a hidden gem for sure.
