I will preface this review with the fact that I had long since given up on any Longhorn Restaurant, forever. However, after checking into our hotel, it was a little late, and seeing a Longhorn right behind our motel, right outside our window actually, my sweetheart said let's go there, so we did. So I held my nose and said sure, and I got to say I was pleasantly surprised. The interior was quite nice, it was clean, modern, and quite comfortable. The people were all nice, and then there was the food. I would have tried their version of the blooming onion, but it was late and I was going to stick with meat and potatoes. Here's another note, I don't have good luck with steakhouses, particularly their steaks. However, I ordered a bone-in ribeye and I loaded baked potato and I was very impressed. First of all, unlike some steakhouses nothing was a la carte, the potato came with the steak and it also came with a nice little fresh salad. They also provided some okay bread, which was warm, and the wait time for dinner was just as expected no big delays. Now the steak was a good cut, ample, and was cooked just right, it was seasoned pretty well albeit a tad salty, and the potato was also quite good. Hence I was impressed and the salad, by the way, was quite good as well so it checked all my boxes for this late-night dinner. My honey went with a cup of French onion soup, and while it didn't blow us away, it was very edible and she enjoyed it. For her entree, she went with a dinner salad that was fresh greens and loaded with strawberries, grapes, mandarin oranges, candied pecans, feta, and raspberry vinaigrette. She enjoyed it very much, nice choice. Bottom line: The Longhorn Steakhouse is no longer on my no-fly list, at least this one for sure, and I can comfortably recommend this location.
