Very disappointing experience. We waited more than 50 minutes just for the fish, which is honestly unacceptable. When we asked the server about it, she simply told us to “wait” instead of checking with the chef or trying to speed things up. It’s just common sense to communicate with the kitchen when customers have already been waiting that long. The chicken was also clearly frozen chicken, not fresh at all, and it tasted bad. Overall the food quality and service were both very poor. Definitely would not come back. The only reason they are making money is because of the location, I do not think that they deserve to be earning money Meal type: Lunch Price per person: NT$1,000–1,200 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Dinner at Longmen Restaurant was one of those meals where the setting and the experience come together in a memorable way. After riding the Maokong Gondola up the mountain, this spot felt like the perfect place to slow down, eat well, and enjoy the view. The restaurant sits along the Maokong ridge with a beautiful overlook of Taipei. On a clear evening you can even see Taipei 101 in the distance. There’s something special about sitting up in the mountains after a day in the city—cooler air, quiet surroundings, and the feeling that time slows down a little. The food was classic Taiwanese mountain-style dining meant to be shared. The roasted chicken was the highlight—crispy skin, juicy meat, and full of flavor. It’s the kind of dish that arrives at the table and everyone immediately starts reaching for pieces. Everything we ordered paired really well together and felt like authentic local cooking rather than tourist-style food. What stood out most to me was the atmosphere. It’s relaxed, welcoming, and perfect for lingering over a meal. This isn’t a rushed dining experience—it’s the kind of place where you sit, talk, eat slowly, and just enjoy being there. If you’re visiting Maokong, I’d definitely recommend stopping here after the gondola ride. Come hungry, bring friends or family, and try to time it around sunset. The view, the food, and the mountain setting make it a really memorable Taipei experience Meal type: Lunch Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5
