Incredible food and incredible service. I've been here a few times but I never had the fajitas until today. Wow. Best fajitas I have ever had. Comfy little spot.

For an off the highway we are hungry and need a place to eat.. this place WAY exceeded our expectations (aka, they were barely there). Short and sweet: delicious home cooked Mexican food right off the freeway with quick service, great flavor and a happy I found this place feeling! The details: After coming down from the mountain and visiting Lake Isabela, we still had almost 2 hours to get home and were HUNGRY! Searching along our route home we see Los Pinos Mexican restaurant and with 4 stars decide its worth a shot to try out! Not trying to be rude, but when you see the same flock enjoying the food you're about to eat.. its usually a good sign! I think the owner was working the front, found us a table, and we were quickly helped! Once seated a nice girl asked if we wanted chips and Salsa and apparently she didn't speak English, but was helpful! Our waitress shortly showed up after to let us know she'd be helping us! The food ALMOST took a minute, but luckily we had chips and salsa to keep us occupied! The salsa is fresh, kinda chunky - I don't like raw tomatoes, but I was able to work around it and it had good flavor.. not too much spice! Now the food. This is where it truly earns the 5 stars.  I got a combo plate, taco was a little small, but filled with all the good stuff! My shredded beef Enchilada and red sauce was SOOOOO good! Definitely order that! My dad's gf got the enchiladas suizas and I got a bite of those.. the green sauce (I'm assuming a tomatillo salsa?) Either way, it's delicious!!! The one weird thing.. if you know Spanish rice, it's usually orange due to adding tomatoes or tomato paste and this rice was white! BUT.. because it still tasted amazing, I'm not knocking it! The other nice thing and food we ordered was the chili Colorado. My dad LOVES this dish and 90% of Mexican restaurants don't serve it.. so to see it on the menu was a nice surprise! It reminded me the Ropa Vieja from Cuba.. although Mexican style..  great flavor, not dry, the shredded beef was soo good in that dish! They didn't give us tortillas with it, but again not upset because eating the dish with chips was just as good! As you can tell, we loved the food! Almost dropped the rating to 4 when you realize they serve everything with Styrofoam and plastic silverware.. but when we asked it was COVID restrictions and not normally like that.. uh, okay, but at least they are trying to be mindful.. even though I'd say use real stuff and clean it vs having to throw away stuff that people have eaten out of.. idk.. you tell me? They did have plexiglass separating the tables and hand sanitizer for people at the front. Personally I think some of these measures are ridiculous, but I value a local business that has made it this far and is doing their best. So if you're driving buy, hungry and looking for a good spot.. THIS IS IT!
