We loved our experience with Luau Kalamaku! We knew when we visited Hawaii that we wanted to attend a luau, and we heard that this was one of the best, and we definitely were not disappointed! First, as we arrived we were greated with leis. I was really excited to receive such a beautiful fresh flower version, and B received a seashell lei that we could keep. Next we went to Koloa Rum Company, which is on the grounds. Our visit to this spot was fantastic! Then we opted to grab drinks from one of the bars and walk around the grounds. They have shopping set up around the dining area, including local art, and there are numerous walking trails to explore. We saw so much beautiful vegetation on the grounds, and even some animals. The grounds are large, so it was nice to explore. When it was time for our meal we went back inside the dining hall and had the amazing food! Honestly, everything was delicious. The drinks were strong, the buffet was tasty, and our table was constantly full of salad, bread, and fresh fruit. We were so stuffed we could hardly eat much dessert, though there was a vast dessert buffet to choose from. Then we watched the show, which I found very entertaining and informative. If you're visiting the area and want to attend a luau, I think Luau Kalamaku is a great option to check out!

I came here with my husband on our honeymoon, we had so much fun!! I booked last minute, and was only able to get the plantation owner's event which was a 3 course meal followed by reserved front row seating at the luau presentation (with an open bar).  The food was delicious, service was excellent and the show was amazing! I am so glad we booked with them. Plus, even with booking the more expensive of the two packages, it was still less that other luaus in the area.

The show far exceeded my expectations. Truly stunning! However, the eating portion of the luau wasn't my thing. A bit challenging when you don't (usually) eat pork. We attended with my uncle, who has lived on the island for 20 years, and did all of the related activities. We toured the plantation, took the 40-minute train ride (run, piggies, run!), visited the craft fair booths, watched the traditional Imu Ceremony, then dined at the buffet, and enjoyed the show. It was a long day with all of the activities, especially since we were staying in Princeville, so you have an hour plus drive there and back. On another trip my parents chose to take a bus from Princeville for an additional fee, so they could fully indulge in the cocktails (unlimited Mai Tais and Blue Hawaiis, local beer, or wine, etc.) and didn't worry about the long drive home. Everything ran smoothly and we had lots of great photo ops with the cast before the show (during the flower greeting) and afterwards as well. Some of the best photos of our teen were taken here. If I were to do it again, I would probably choose the less expensive luau show only option, because I would absolutely see the show again. There are also some other luau options closer to Princeville so I might give one of them a shot.
