I chose Luca for my birthday dinner and wasn't disappointed! Samantha, our waitress, was wonderful. She gave great suggestions, was genuinely excited about the food and drinks they serve, which elevates a nice dinner to a dining experience for me. The food... I love to cook and I'm pretty good. This food is clearly why Luca had been around so long. We had the bolognese/pappardelle which was rich and silky with a flavor explosion. You can tell this sauce is made with patience and love. The homemade pasta was cooked to al dented perfection as well. We also had the short rib/polenta. I will be dreaming of this flavorful dish that was so tender and complimented so well by the creamy polenta. The salumi e formaggio plate was lovely. I wish it came with their focaccia because I wasn't a fan of the toughness of the sourdough. Dessert was a simple yet devine cannoli. Thick creamy filling with just a hint of lemony sweetness surrounded by crisp cannoli shell dipped in a small amount of white chocolate and topped with sliced almonds. Drinks were also wonderful. I had a peach old fashion, or 2 actually. Lighter than the traditional version, so it was perfect on a warm summer evening. Joseph was an angel and called to let us know my bf had left his cc which would have been disastrous to find out at the airport the next morning. If you want to splurge and not be disappointed, go to Luca!
