What a wonderful evening at Marta! We were greeted immediately and recognized that the evening was booked to celebrate my birthday, which was such a delight. Our server Matthew was a joy to visit with and made the evening even more fun! We had happy hour cocktails, I had ruby slippers and my partner had a vodka something (I can’t remember the name). Both were delicious and a wonderfully made cocktail. Even if you came just for happy hour, it would be well worth it. I ordered the Tuna Cannoli and my partner the Meatballs Arribiatta off the happy hour menu as well. Perfect sizes and absolutely delicious! For dinner my partner had the skirt steak with fried gnocchi and I had the Spaghetti Carbonara with blue crab. WOW…both were out of this world! Steak perfectly cooked, the friend gnocchi was so fun and different and the carbonara was rich, creamy and full of flavor. For my birthday they asked if I preferred fruity dessert or chocolate. I said chocolate as I had already planned to order the opera cake for dessert. They brought out the tiramisu with a candle and all (so so so sweet), but alas I don’t like custard. When I told another server checking on us that I’d love to order the opera cake, Matthew brought it out with ANOTHER candle and birthday song! I wish we lived here so we could visit many more times, but if we ever return to Baltimore, we will be sure to go back to Marta. What a joy. Marta Fine Food and Spirits was great. Stylish yet casual vibe with a lively, welcoming feel. The food was fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared — every dish hit the mark.
