Mary Colin is a quaint cafe located on Odawara in Sendai. Known for its calming atmosphere, this charming spot doubles as a bookstore focused on children's literature. The proprietors have curated a selection of picture books that visitors can enjoy while savoring delicious homemade cakes and a variety of beverages, including tea and coffee. Despite being temporarily closed due to the coronavirus situation, the cafe has reopened with measures to ensure a peaceful experience by recommending just one person enters at a time.
The cafe caters to individuals looking for a quiet break, offering takeout and free Wi-Fi during visits. However, it's geared more toward those who want to immerse themselves in the literary offerings rather than using it as a workspace. Payments are cash-only, and with limited operating hours from Wednesday to Sunday, taking the time for a quick visit might be ideal. Although it provides basic amenities such as TV and a limited selection of alcoholic beverages, Mary Colin maintains its identity as a cozy refuge for book and cake lovers alike. As of now, there's a lack of recent updates directly from the owner about future events or changes.

This book shop and cafe is lovely! The owner is really kind and very passionate about children's books. I highly recommend this place to anyone who likes children's books.

It's a small shop where tea, coffee, and homemade cakes are all delicious. The cafe had been closed for about two months due to the coronavirus, but they had reopened a few days ago, so I stopped by. This is a relaxing and quiet cafe that is highly recommended for those who love picture books. They are currently recommending that only one person enter the store to avoid crowding. At this store, I don't want to do things like bring my own books to read or bring my computer to study or work lol. Enjoy picture books selected by the owner to your heart's content. is the "correct" answer.
