Delicious matcha—the owner was so kind to take the time to chat with us and told us that it was matcha from his own farm. Take a sip and you can really taste the quality!

You'd think a place in Japan with an English shop name would be a flop but honestly, this shop lived to its claims of having the "bestest matcha ever". We had both the matcha and hojicha and both were absolutely divine. It had a luscious creamy milk and with great tea flavour. Other matcha places we tried after this didn't even come close. Definitely a must try!

You can hardly ignore the sign outside Matcha Garden claiming “The bestest Matcha ever”. So we walked in to test the bold claim. The young friendly couple that operates the cafe (take-away only) tells us they only use the finest materials. I’m no matcha expert but upon tasting the drink, I truly cannot suggest a single improvement - it is delightfully balanced, not too sweet, not too rich, the right amount of matcha and as smooth as you can imagine. Heavenly. Not sure if it is bestest but it was certainly my favourite matcha by a long-mile in my 11-day trip to Osaka/Kyoto.
