Our two couples visit a week ago was a real treat. We started with the delicious authentic Khachapuri which was a super balance of bread and cheese plus herbs, and we enjoyed a delightfully seasoned salad to go with. The tomatoes were oozing with freshness. Some of us had the turkey and others the New Zealand lamb, and both were accorded full marks for taste as well as texture. The lamb in particular was both moist and tender and beautifully grilled. As a committed bbq -er from South Africa I have substantial experience with lamb so when I asked for compliments to be passed onto the chef for the exceptional quality of the meat as well as its preparation I did so with purpose and appreciation. The select red from the Georgian family winery was a superb accompaniment to the lamb, and the rich bouquet was something definitely not to be missed en route to the gentle sipping Because we had judiciously chosen to share the Khachapuri we were still able to enjoy two of the desserts on offer, the Pavlova and the Napoleon. Both were memorable, delicately baked fairy-light pastry for the Napoleon together with scrumptious layers of crème and equally delightfully crafted meringue plus what tasted like the genuine Anna P version of this one’s crème too, decorated by seasonal fruits. Our banquet was rounded off with lattes that signed off a visit that was thoroughly enjoyed by the 4 of us. And something that seems is not widely practiced, although the waitering staff each had their focused tables they were aware of those in the proximity too, so when there was a plate ready to be removed and/or a jug of water to be refilled they proactively assisted, which we felt contributed significantly to the sense that our presence was welcomed and appreciated. Well done Team Mimino, we will be back soon. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Lunch Price per person: €45–50
