On a hot afternoon, just before dinner, I occasionally passed by a small residential area on a narrow street not far to the northwest from the center of Medan for some of my incidentally need of my business. There was an inconspicuous My Way restaurant in a residential area. The restaurant is bustling with people, and the seats are packed with guests. It really makes the colleagues around the restaurant envious. Could it be that this restaurant which evolved from a residential house, offering those dishes are indeed special delicacies? Out of curiosity and wanting to find out, I parked my car and then walked into this restaurant alone. I chose a table that happened to be empty and sat down. I looked at the menu and saw that there were enough choices for ordinary daily dishes, so I ordered a few dishes at random. I ordered Grilled Chicken Legs, Grilled Long Eggplant (Terong Bakar), Stir-fried Water Spinach with Shrimp Paste (Tumis Kangkung Terasi), and Raw Vegetables. I just wanted to try out the chef's cooking skills and taste. To my surprise, after eating it, I found that the quality and taste are indeed good. Even I was in a restaurant that was not luxurious but simple with no air-conditioning and only wall-mounted fans, the restaurant was really not lacking in comfort and cleanliness, making people feel extraordinary when dining indoors. I finished the meal with gusto without any disappointment. And I was thinking, this restaurant really lives up to its reputation. Although the dishes are simple, they are very delicious and will make people remember to come back. Unfortunately, the quality of the long eggplants is a bit low, and the cores of the long eggplants is hard. It may be that the chef did not select the long eggplants properly when buying them. My conclusion is, the prices of the dishes here are quite reasonable, which is especially suitable for food lovers who are low-to-middle-income people or those who like to save money. It is a good place worth recommending to try and eat.
