You can go to this bar if you appear to be near Kokoku-ji Temple. It is good to enjoy great coffee. The high ratings of Machibuse would be impossible without the efficient staff. Machibuse is a Showa retro concept cafe that opened in July 2022 (the name is said to be taken from the title of a song by Hitomi Ishikawa). On Friday morning, I stopped by and had morning coffee on my way to see the Natsume Soseki Sanbang Memorial Museum. As written on the sign, it looks like they use KEY Coffee beans, but it's not a taste I personally prefer. (It tastes like commercial liquid coffee.) However, thanks to the atmosphere filled with Showa era pop songs and the clean interior, it is great for sitting leisurely and chatting or reading quietly. The menu was quite simple, so even I, who doesn't speak any Japanese, was able to order using Google Image Translate. It may not be a place where many tourists come due to its location, but personally, I felt good because it was an unexpected discovery.
