I stumbled upon this spot by chance, and I'm so glad I did. The host—who turned out to be the owner—seemed slightly skeptical when I first walked in (which is fair: my Japanese is terrible; they don't have an English menu), but I assured him and the chef that I would eat whatever they prepared ("osusume" is a great word to know in Japanese!) and proceeded to have one of the most delicious, creative meals of my two weeks in Japan, plus a fantastic sake flight. Sitting at the bar was delightful, as I got to watch the talented (and friendly!) chef as she prepared my meal. Service, food, and cozy atmosphere were all top-notch.
