Strongly recommend - Most underrated South Indian tiffin place in the bay area. They are consistently on the dot every time. They serve freshly made food after you order. The taste is very authentic and super close to eating in Madurai. I visit this fine establishment regularly. The staff are super kind and welcoming. Things that I order regularly: Rava dosa Rava masala dosa Mysore masala dosa Medhu vada Idli Pongal Their chutneys and sambar are awesome. Strongly recommend Service: Dine in Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Onion Rava Masala, Pongal, Idli Recommendation for vegetarians: Highly recommend Vegetarian offerings: Menu is all vegetarian

The best South IndianVegetarian Restaurant , I have found in the Bay Area in the past 23+ years. Their dishes are very authentic, not tailored to the majority of customers, but maintain the original quality you can find only traditional South Indian veg restaurants.
It looks the restaurant is being managed by a family ( members) with some help, and hope they will be able to maintain the quality, even as their clientele increases and they go in for expansion, which they have to do obviously.
The cute little son of the owner was there when we went there today and the way he was taking part in the activities of running the restaurant, you can see him growing up to be-a great manager in life.

One of the best South-Indian food joint in Sunnyvale. We Tamils always call ourselves the connoisseur of Sambhar. Going by that, if you really want to have an authentic Tamil Tiffin Sambhar march into Madurai Modern Cafe. Not to mention, the quantity and price is healthy
