Really, we're at the best pizzeria in Lyon. I've been coming to eat Fabrizio's dishes and pizzas for 5 years and I still can't get enough of them! Apart from the fact that he is a pizza maker, he is a real cook, a real chef, he brings another dimension to this emblematic dish that is pizza! An artist of this art like we rarely see, if at all! Tucked away along a local street, "Magnagati" is a modest, almost inconspicuous pizza joint that you might easily pass by. Venturing in without lofty expectations, I was greeted by its intimate setting - a handful of tables outdoors and a few more inside, with additional seating available on the second floor. The duo running the place, one handling service and the other mastering the art of pizza-making, exuded warmth and dedication. I treated myself to a glass of their exquisite Primitivo wine and opted for a mushroom and ham pizza, accentuated with their unique homemade chili oil. To say I was impressed would be an understatement. Every element, from the dough and sauce to the toppings, was impeccable. Having savored pizzas in Italy, I can confidently say that if I were blindfolded and placed in "Magnagati", I'd believe I was in one of Italy's finest pizzerias. The cherry on top? The incredibly reasonable prices for such top-tier pizza. If you're in the vicinity, don't miss out on this hidden gem. Highly recommended!
