My husband and I reserved online for a much awaited date night. We started our evening at Alibi lounge (same owners). Drinks were excellent, the ambiance was cool but VERY loud with a bunch of 12 screaming at eaxh other over the music. They were having fun and it's just for drinks, so good on them, plus our waitress Chloé was awesome. Our reservation at MK was at 7h30 so around 7h15 we make our way over. We are created and told we have to wait outside until 7:30 because they are still tidying up from a private event. At 7:30 we are now 10 couples waiting outside and they let us in. I am greeted by the manager who shows us to the counter. I request a table (as I want to be able to gaze into my husband's beautiful eyes as we talk, not sit next to him and get a sore neck). She very rudely says "you requested the counter and that's all we've got). I try to explain i prefer a table but she just puts down our menus and walks away. We sit and the counter looks into the open kitchen (no glass or nothing, I could have sneezed right into someone's plate). We wait for someone to come open our bottle of wine or bring us a ice bucket for it. As we wait we look around, carton of cream on the counter, pre made pizza sitting uncovered. 15 minutes later no one has come to see us, and being seated behind us was the VERY LOUD GROUP, from Alibi lounge. Between them, the pots, pans and other kitchen noises we anticipate it's not going to be the romantic evening we had planned. We got up and left, at the door a nice waitress ran up to us asking what was wrong, we told her, she pointed to a quiet table for 2 and asked "if I can offer you this table, would you stay?" We said yes, she said let me talk to my manager, after watching them debate about it for 3 minutes we left. Ended up at El Tesoro, and had a lovely date, but I'm not sure I would try Main Kitchen again because of the service. Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: $1–10

If you have a moment to carefully verify your reservation details, you will notice you did in fact request the counter at the time of your last-minute booking. Our professional management team and group of experienced servers thrive on warm hospitality. Unfortunately, someone must be the bearer of news in these circumstances, and we understand the counter experience was not what you anticipated. We would have been more than happy to move you and your husband to a table, if we had that option; however, every table was occupied. If you wish for a table (especially for a much anticipated date night), we suggest booking one week in advance and not a few short hours before. I came out from eating at your New Year’s supper last night.

I gave you the opportunity to serve me once again.

Unfortunately, this supper experience was the worst. The food was excellent, however the service was inexistant.

Your two servers never ackowledged us after the girl front the front reception seated us.

We arrived and were seated at 7:00 pm. None of the two waitresses ever came to acknowledge our presence.

Everyone that arrived and seated after us were greeted, explained the menu and served food.

We never had any servers come to see us. It took the chef that was in charge of the appetisers that noticed we were waiting over 35 minutes without any service.

He came over to our table asking us if we had our appetisers from his station. We had to tell him that nobody had ever came to see us since we were seated and still waiting for anyone to come to explain the menu and bring us the appetisers.

Everyone was served the appetisers ( first course on the menu )…

He had to complain twice to the waitress why we were not served after 35 minutes. Appetiser came 10 minutes later. They were just deposited on the table without any words from the waitress.

Second course came around 8:15. Third course came around 8:45 and dessert at 9:15.

Nobody ever came to explain the menu, apologize for the delays, or anything. It was as if we did not even exist seated at one of your tables…

After being served the dessert, we left without anyone ever ackowledging our presence.

I am extremely sorry that we had to prepay a 18% service charge for NOT having any service at all.

Two waitresses on duty and both ignored us as customers.

I have no words for being treated so badly.

I am a regular customer that spend annually between $750 - $1,000 / year at this restaurant.

Tonight, I left a tip of $15.00 on a $130.00 bill before tax. I wanted to leave a $18.00 tip but made a mistake on the terminal and could not make a correction.

The waitress came to me as I was leaving asking if I was unhappy with the service. I guess she expected a minimum tip of $23,00 on the total bill with government tax. I pay normally 15% tip before tax which is what is fair.

I found this insulting to ask for more money.

Restaurant just lost a loyal faithful returning customer on this insultting gesture.
