A stab in the heart. We return after a few years, we were loyal customers in the past. Cozy place and friendly service, but: the bread looked like it was left over from a day ago: rubbery, the slices dried up. The meat is overcooked and tough. the rice overcooked, the ravioli dry and served lukewarm. Two more appetizers marked on the bill, luckily they canceled them for us. I read other reviews and it seems that it was not an isolated case, we thought it was an unlucky day but it seems not, we really feel betrayed. Many people have complained about the exact same problems. It's a shame, a ruined place of the heart, which lives on the (then well deserved) laurels of the past and which is now only interested in passing customers. October 15, 2023. We are retired from 20 years in the Italian restaurant business, rarely do we enjoy a meal out as much as we did in Ristorante Majore, a family run business for over 100 years. Delicious Sicilian dinner, excellent friendly & professional service, quality locale ingredient's, cozy ambience, open kitchen, over all very pleasant experience. Staff and Chef very accommodating to us, despite busy evening guests. We selected: cheeses and olives with grilled vegetables, house wine, followed by pasta/Bronte pistachio, Pasta/porcini mushrooms with truffle sauce, and 3 dessert! My husband, who never eats dessert, enjoyed two of the special "dessert of the day".
