A local attraction - Makawao History Project, which is situated beside this steakhouse, is a part of the unique culture of the city. Find good ribs, ribeye and prime rib roast on the menu. A lot of visitors say that waiters offer tasty crème brûlée, ice cream and cheesecakes here.
The wine list is extensive, every guest will find something that satisfies their taste. Great coffee is among the best drinks to order. The energetic staff works hard, stays positive and makes this place great. The fine service is always a pleasure. Prices here are reported to be democratic. The modern fireplace and cool atmosphere let clients feel relaxed here. Makawao Steak House has received Google 4.1 according to the guests' opinions. Very mediocre. How can you make a Kobe Beef burger subpar.? I asked for medium rare, more on rare side. It came medium to well. Salad bar was good and wine selection better than most Maui restaurants but good just satisfactory.

CLOSED. Some say family health issue or death but whatever. No longer open. The last time I went there I got sick a couple of hours later. Sad end to what was once a Makawao fixture.

Although it appears to be a steakhouse, it is kind of a joke. A friend of mine whose birthday it was we went there and he ordered surf and turf. We should know never to order surf on Maui because the lobster was horribly horribly dry and very very small. Needless to say the birthday boy was not impressed at all. there was eight of us so we spent a considerable amount on dinner and there was not one of us that enjoyed our dinner. I know they've been changing ownerships, chefs, wait staff, however if you want to be a steakhouse learn how to be a steakhouse and how to cook a steak that comes from a steakhouse. Also learn to cook a lobster that does not come out so dry you have to pull it apart to eat it. So sorry to say this is my second horrible experience with makawao steak House and I probably will not be returning anytime soon.
