My husband and I visited this restaurant today, hoping to enjoy a nice lunch on our last day in Croatia. Based on the high rating, we expected a pleasant experience, but unfortunately, it turned out to be the opposite. We ordered two soups and coffee, planning to have dessert afterwards. When we placed our order, our waiter seemed surprised and almost disappointed that we were only ordering soup. At first, I thought I was imagining it. My husband received a delicious tomato soup, but I ordered the beef soup and was served what was essentially just broth with a few noodles floating in it. There was no beef at all. I was very hungry, and it honestly felt like I had been served leftovers rather than an actual soup. That was extremely disappointing. After finishing our soups and coffee, we wanted to order dessert. However, our waiter completely ignored our table for about 30 minutes. During that time, we watched him repeatedly serve other tables with larger orders while never once coming back to check on us. After waiting for so long, my husband had to find another waiter just so we could pay the bill. That waiter apologized and asked if we had been waiting for something. We told him we had wanted to order dessert but had given up because nobody came to our table. Maybe we were simply unlucky with our waiter, but we genuinely felt that we were ignored because our order wasn’t large enough. It’s a shame, because no guest should feel less important based on how much they order. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was disappointing enough that I felt it was worth sharing. This restaurant has the longest uninterrupted tradition in Baška valley, as far as I know. Owned and run by the same family for almost 40 years now. They have always been known for their hard work, all year long. The family has a little farm, right next to the restaurant, where they grow extremely high quality food (all organic, HAND CULTIVATED AND HAND PICKED), watered by the little river that is flowing next to their property. They sell fruits and vegetables, as well as they use them in their restaurant. Directly from field to your table. They are also well known for being the masters of the open fire rotisserie grill. Everything they prepare tastes absolutely delicious. Lamb/pig on stick, veal/octopus/fish under PEKA (traditional way of open fire cooking under the cast metal dome) - it's all just the meals they are most famous for, plus they added numerous extra dishes to their menu, turning it into a proper à la carte restaurant.
The absolute highlight of this place is also it's ambience. Although only 1-1,5 km away from the sea, it offers a totally different dimension. This place is placed in the middle of the lush, green field, offering plenty of peace, quite and rest. The nearest houses are some 500m away. Extremely unique place worth paying a visit. Especially in bigger groups, or if organising smaller celebrations and events, as they can host a lot of people comfortably indoors and outdoors.
