I've been a regular customer of Mama Rana's yellow rice, but my recent experience was disappointing. The rice lacked its usual quality, and the curry portions were much smaller than before. Even the chicken was not meaty. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: Rs 3,500–4,000 Food: 1

Avoid ordering takeaway. The person taking the order wasn’t even at the restaurant and had no knowledge of the kitchen’s operating schedule. I placed my order at 12:37 PM on April 16th, expecting it to be ready in 10 minutes. However, it wasn’t prepared until 1:50 PM even after repeatedly requesting the kitchen to expedite it (over 5-6 times). When it was finally handed over, it was just hastily reheated food. I could have easily gone to the store, cooked a meal at home, and finished eating in that time. Yet, they still charge a premium. Meal type: Lunch Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Thank you for your feedback we have heard your point and will work on improving our times. However please note each pack is made to order hence why it takes time, we recommend placing orders an hour in advance so our team has time to prepare your meal to the quality we promise to deliver.

**1/5 Stars - A Disappointing Experience at Mama Rana's Restaurant** I'm still trying to process the appalling service I received at Mama Rana's Restaurant today. My Mother and I walked in expecting a nice lunch, but what we got was a rude awakening. From the moment we stepped foot into the restaurant, it was clear that the staff thought they were above providing any kind of customer service. The first red flag was the attitude of the waitstaff. They seemed put off by our presence, and it took an eternity for someone to even acknowledge us. When we finally managed to flag down a waiter, we were met with a smug smile and an air of superiority. It became clear that they thought they were doing us a favor by serving us. But the real kicker came when we asked for some basic amenities, like a menu and some water. The waiter looked at us like we were ridiculous for even asking, and informed us that "this is a VIP restaurant" and that they didn't provide those things to "commoners" like us. Um, excuse me? What kind of restaurant thinks it's okay to treat customers like dirt just because they're not part of some exclusive club? And don't even get me started on the bathroom situation. We were shocked to discover that there were no handwash facilities outside the toilets. Yes, you read that right - no soap, no water, no nothing. The staff simply told us that we had to wash our hands in the toilet itself. Are you kidding me? This is 2023, not some medieval castle. Its Still Sri-Lanka. But despite all these issues, the food was probably the biggest disappointment of all. We ordered what we thought was a fancy meal, but it turned out to be some bland, overpriced nonsense. I mean, who serves "VIP" food that's just a glorified version of what you can get at any old street restaurants? All in all, our experience at Mama Rana's was a complete disaster. Avoid this place at all costs unless you enjoy being treated like dirt and served subpar food. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: Rs 1,000–1,500

We sincerely regret that your visit to Mama Rana’s did not meet your expectations.We have looked into this complaint and would like to clarify that our staff attempted to assist you upon arrival, but there was a delay since you were on a call , menus were provided thereafter. Further the dish you requested is part of our lunch menu and was not available at 4 PM, however our team were accommodating and still served you the dish. We strive to maintain a respectful environment for both guests and staff. While we understand frustrations can arise, we please ask that you treat our staff with respect. Cutlery is provided for all guests. If dining by hand, we encourage the use of our bathroom facilities to ensure hygiene as is our policy. There were no comments made about a "VIP restaurant" and we do not appreciate false accusations of this manner. We value all feedback, as it helps us improve.
