First visit to Mamasamas (wife/daughter have been multiple times). It did NOT disappoint. Staci was a fantastic server and made sure to explain the menu and made great suggestions. Tuna Carpaccio and Arancini to start and was delicious. Drinks were well crafted and fair priced. The Sazerac was among the best I’ve had. We ordered Cotaletta (veal schnitzel), Gnocchi (perfect amount of heat and pillowy soft) and Pappardelle Boscaiola was unlike anything I’ve ever had. Fantastic mushroom flavor without being over the top. What a great experience and we will be back soon! Price per person: $60–70 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

So disappointing. We’ve wanted to come here for a while and we were completely let down. When we were sat on the patio, we were given one bottle of water for 8 people, and not greeted for 15 minutes (in July). We ordered a round of cocktails and a bottle of nice wine that didn’t come for another half an hour. We also ordered our food and appetizers together after being told the courses would be staged out, which was a mistake. We waited half an hour for appetizers and then after finishing them another half an hour for our entrees. This even wouldn’t have been that bad if we at least could have been ordering drinks but the server wasn’t present and the bar was very behind. Once the food came out, the gnocchi were fantastic. Would absolutely eat again. However those of us who ordered the 24hr ragu were all very disappointed by how watery the sauce was and the lack of flavor. I addressed our experience with the manager because truly I do want this restaurant to succeed and I feel like they have a lot of potential, or maybe we just caught them on an off night, and while apologetic, his solution was sending out limoncello shots and dessert and then letting us know that they weren’t charging us for the shots or dessert that we didn’t order. Last gripe, if you’re going to substitute a wine for a bottle that you ran out of, either give it at the same price or at the least let me know before charging me more for it. All in all, one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in years and I would’ve rather gone to Chillis. $275 meal (2 people w $115 bottle of wine) truly wasted. Price per person: $90–100 Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

We clearly missed the mark, and I’m sorry your evening didn’t reflect the standard we strive to provide. We had a server on the patio who was still in training that evening. While that’s never an excuse, it did contribute to some of the service issues you experienced, and we’ve already addressed it with our team. I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the gnocchi, but I’m disappointed to hear the ragu, the pacing of the meal, the wine substitution, and the overall service left you feeling let down. That’s not the experience we want any of our guests to have. I do believe this was an off night, and I’d truly appreciate the opportunity to show you what MAMASAMAS is really about. Everything about Mamasama’s is absolutely phenomenal. They serve the best Italian food we’ve had at The Beaches. The drinks are delicious and unique. Service is top tier. The vibes of this place10/10 no notes. Can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
