I had a truly wonderful experience at Maneki! I am so incredibly happy that I got the chance to visit this restaurant, which is famously known as one of the oldest Japanese restaurants in the United States. I highly recommend visiting this place if you are in Seattle. The overall atmosphere and unique vibes are unmatched. It feels like stepping into a piece of history while enjoying a fantastic meal. Don't miss out on this gem! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

It’s extremely touching when I read about the restaurant and its history. Maneki Restaurant is the oldest Japanese restaurant in Seattle. It was opened in 1904, and been through World War II and the COVID-19 pandemic. There was so tough to them to maintain Maneki during the pandemic. Fortunately, they got funds from people through GoFundMe and keep the door open. I have been wanting to try this place for so long. Back in 2021, they only open for take-out orders. Early this year, I came without reserving a table, they’re completely sold out. Finally, I made it this time. Everything was soooo good, all of the fish were fresh. We got Ankimo as an appetizer, super creamy but I love it. Right after that, we got our nigiris: ora king salmon, kanpachi, madai, kinmedai, hamachi, hotate, chutoro, flying fish roe, and spot prawn (also come with the fried head). Their Black Cod Collar Miso is the best in the world, the best black cod collar I have ever had. The seasoning was perfecr, the black cod was perfectly cooked as well! Highly recommend this place for those who love Japanese cuisine! The service was phenomenal. Our server was friendly, helpful, dedicated, and passionate I’ll definitely come back to try other dishes on the menu.
