If you're looking for a restaurant in Rome that is truly local, where the customers are Italians from the surrounding neighborhoods, and which offers the best possible quality food at the most reasonable prices, then that restaurant is definitely Manforte. First and foremost, let me tell you that this restaurant's fries are unparalleled. Their taste is incredibly delightful, they're thinly cut, served with the skin on, perfectly fried, and come with several delicious sauces you can choose from. I always order the lemon and black pepper sauce. The pizzas here are divided into two categories: white and red. Their pizzas are outstanding, easily surpassing many famous Italian brands, but their white pizzas are truly excellent, truly. The "Five Cheese" pizza is superb. They also have delicious local draft beers. The burgers they serve are absolutely brilliant in every way. They offer the real taste of a burger, but without exaggerating the flavors. A key characteristic of Italians is their meticulous attention to flavor balance; they absolutely dislike any one flavor overpowering the others (for example, they use garlic, but the amount must be just right so it doesn't neutralize the other tastes). In this restaurant, flavor balance is brilliantly observed. The staff and management are truly polite and kind. They also speak English well, which is great for someone like me who only knows a few words of Italian. The atmosphere and environment of the restaurant are incredibly homely and comfortable, as if you've been invited to a family gathering. If you experience it just once, this place will never let you go. Parking, however, remains a problem, just like everywhere else in Rome.
