Set overlooking Ramsgate harbour, this is a great place for lunch. We had the best dressed crab we’ve ever eaten. Crab can be a bit flat but this was lifted with apple and fennel marinaded in lime juice, and served with lettuce and samphire. The wine was reasonably priced and excellent, especially the Sauvignon Blanc. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £30–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Stunning seafood. I had monkfish in gorgeous Sri Lankan curry sauce, cooked to perfection. Dressed crab rated ‘best I’ve ever had’ by my fellow diner. Mussels in Thai red curry also excellent. Not cheap, but definitely worth seeking out if you want a treat. Book in advance! Price per person: £40–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

I have eaten at hundreds of restaurants over the years and this is the first time I have ever given a five star rating. For me, if everything is as expected, that's worthy of three stars. All of Marc's produce is exquisite; if it's not, then he doesn't serve it - simples. Even if that means an item, which is available normally, can't be served today. This attitude shows his dedication to both his craft and his customers. Ramsgate has many restaurants, some of which are very good. Marc-Pierre's Kitchen exceeds 'good' by a considerable margin. Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian options: Gluten free is also available.
