After seeing an online recommendation we decided to take a ride to Markey's lobster pool and restaurant. I grew up near Cape Ann MA and I know what good fried clams and lobster rolls taste like and these failed at Markey's. The clams were not sweet and could have come from a can. Nicely fried but no flavor. The lobster in the lobster tasted like it had been frozen or old. The lobster had a very bland not fresh flavor which was surprising since they also sold fresh lobster. I know what fresh lobster tastes like and this wasn't it! Plus too much mayo which is a no no for a good lobster roll. They can fool tourists but I know better. The key to a good restaurant is very fresh food. Now I know why on Labor day weekend the place wasn't packed. I will not go back. Much, much better close to home on the North Shore in MA. Atmosphere near the water was nice. But that's it. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $30–50 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3
