I think worst service I’ve ever experienced. We stopped there to grab coffee and cake. Outside tables were full, so we sat downstairs. We were expecting that the tables downstairs would be with service, but after 10 min with nobody showing up, we tried to order from the QR code. The menu there was bugging however, and so we went upstairs to order. After the cashier told us half of the cakes were out of stock at the moment, she said they didn’t have the almond tiramisu and one of the special crepe cakes, but only crepe cake classic and regular tiramisu. We said ok, sure, just the normal ones then and paid. We went to pick up the cake and the server tells us, they don’t have tiramisu anymore, so now I can only choose between canolli or semifreddo since they are the only items at the same price as the tiramisu. I tried to ask to pay extra for something else, but was told it’s not possible and to just choose one of the two. At this point, already I just wanted to get the stupid cake coffee, eat and go, so I agreed and got a semifreddo. We go to finally sit downstairs with the drinks and cakes, to be met by the waiter (after 20 min, now suddenly there’s somebody working down there), who tells us we can’t sit there, since the area is only for people, paying also for the service. So we got kicked out, with nothing like the items we wanted or paid and was expected to eat the cake and coffee on the street. Should I even mention it was raining outside? I’m sorry, but it’s not like I’m expecting the best service ever, but this place provided 0 service. Not a waiter, not the cashier or the guy behind the cake bar, who on top of the whole situation was behaving rude, as if I was at fault there. The food provided at Martinucci is nice and for a reason the place is busy, but the service is non-existent. If you want to get something there, I’d recommend just buy it and don’t try to sit and eat it, the staff is gonna kick you out anyways….
