Cosy eatery offering exclusively vegetarian food. Peak periods can get busy. Restaurant’s preference is for payment in cash. The vegetarian options are interesting and varied, featuring many items not regularly found on Indian menus around here. Food is fresh and tasty and the flavors are culturally authentic with reasonable levels of heat and spice. Masala Fries, sprinkled with a delicious blend of herbs and spices, are aromatic and extremely moreish. My favorite order has to be the Plain Dosa or the Masala Dosa, the latter is filled with spiced potatoes and onions. Each order is freshly prepared upon order and served with the ubiquitous sambhar curry and freshly grated coconut chutney, which are the perfect foils to these crispy rice and lentil crepes. Aloo Puri, a dish of potatoes and pea curry served with two puris, is also very good. This is the place to sample Thali, a traditional assortment of Indian dishes on a platter. Check out the several options on offer, each is a sumptuous meal in itself. Last but not least, you must try their Masala Chai. Theirs is one of the best I’ve tasted. My daughter and I revisited Masala Kraft Cafe last night Wednesday. We were pleasantly surprised to see Sonia, the manager. She greeted us with a warm smile and reminded us that this was a vegan vegetarian place. They prefer cash, and I told her that I only have a card. She responded, no problem. It was a busy night, we were willing to wait for a table and finally we were seated. When the food arrived, it was worth the wait and everything was delicious. Can't wait to come back and bring my friends.
