Enjoy Old Market House State Historic Site by default, the guests' recommendation is to come to this bar as well. You will appreciate delicious wine at Massbach Ridge Winery Tasting Room Galena. The wine tasting experience was great! You get 4 wines and they have a lovely seating area. The guy working when we stopped in was lively, friendly, and knows the wines well. He was from Chicago too and we were there on a slow day, so we had a nice chat. The wines were also very good.

Massbach is an old friend . . . we visited them the first time on November 9, 2013 and were impressed. Since we were back in Galena last weekend, we visited again on November 10. Our previous visit had been to the winery, this was the "in-town" tasting room. We were there about lunchtime and it was slow enough that the server was able to "talk wine" with us for awhile, and the wine was as good as we remembered for the whites and their reds had improved over the years. They were the last of four wineries we visited on our trip, but we'll make them first next time we're in Galena.
