Come for a meal right after visiting Almaty Central Park. If you want to try some good coffee, Master Coffee is a nice choice for you. The cute staff works hard, stays positive and makes this place wonderful. The fine service is something these restaurateurs care about. The lovely atmosphere can make you want to stay here for a bit more than you've initially planned. Google users are quite generous with this place: it was granted 4.6 stars.

Earlier this evening, I finally decided to check out Master Coffee—the one with the turtle logo. The turtle is meaningful to me because the lawyer who once helped me get out of jail in Thailand collects turtles. Before that, I had checked into Sun Hostel, where the front desk guy—who actually has a degree in coffee, a real barista—had great conversations with me about our travels and about Master Coffee itself. He told me the best drink to order at Turtle Coffee is the Sunrise Coffee. When I got there, I met two very kind, cheerful women working at the café. Are they new? They honestly had no idea what I was talking about half the time, which made it even funnier. Their specialty menu is small—just nine coffees and teas. One reminded me of Pai, Thailand, and another of the turquoise lakes near Almaty. In the end, I went with their recommendation: passion fruit with coffee. I’ll definitely return—not just for the drinks, but to see their happy faces again and try another specialty coffee. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: ₸1–2,000
