Both Bukoji and Masuya are recommended for visiting. You can have good pork chops, onion omelette and fried chicken at this restaurant. Masuya with takeout food is suitable for those clients who like to eat on the go. The staff is said to be gracious here. Service at this place is something one can name nice. Democratic prices are what you are to pay for your meal. The atmosphere is homey, a lot of visitors like the style of this spot. This restaurant has got Google 4.7 according to the guests' opinions.

Cute local diner with only 7 seats, run by a sweet and friendly couple. Menus in the restaurant were easily translated into English via Google. The seats surround the kitchen, and you can see the chef preparing and cooking the food. I noticed they received loads of takeaway orders on the phone. Locals were queuing up to enter this restaurant when we left - im glad we managed to beat the lunch crowd! We ordered the lunch set A , and Omurice + hamburg. Delicious!!! A wonderful local dining experience in Kyoto. The food was incredibly delicious, fresh, and comforting. The atmosphere was quiet and authentic, giving me a glimpse into everyday local life. I was the only tourist and the only woman in the restaurant at the time, which made the experience even more memorable. Everyone was quietly enjoying their meal while I sat in the corner trying my best to blend in. If you’re looking for a genuine local spot with excellent food and a warm atmosphere, I highly recommend Masuya Price per person: ¥1–1,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

This little gem was one of our best finds in Kyoto. We were looking for an authentic omurice, avoiding the crowds of tourists in the Gion area and surroundings as well as the most famous omurice restaurants. This a tiny place, very cozy, family runned, with only about 7 seats at a counter. We were able to see the omurice being done and all clients were japonese and seemed locals. However we felt very welcomed. Totally recommended for a simple lunch ( 11 am to 5pm and only open a few days per week) in a quiet back road not far from the Kamo river and the most busy streets.
