On our first trip to Costa Rica we were told abut this place by our driver Charlie from Charlie Shuttle. Said it was a great local family owned restaurant with good food and super prices. He wasn't wrong! This place is amazing! I wanted to try something different and asked the waiter (who turned out to be one of the owners) what he suggested. He asked if I ever had matambre before. Never even heard of it. So I tried the sandwich. On fresh bread with house made chimichurri and pico. OMG. Incredible! At his suggestion I also tried the pulled pork gallos (street taco). I'm not a huge pulled pork fan but it was so tasty that I got more than one. Everything was so good I went back the next night for dinner again. Talking with the owner he explained how it is a family business and the location of the restaurant used to be the house he grew up in. The story is awesome, the food is delicious, and the owner is so welcoming. Do yourself a favor and make it a point to go here. You can thank me later!
