Let's start with the view. It was amazing. There is a wonderful view of a golf course. Now the food. Not so amazing. I ordered a lobster and corn soup which tasted little like lobster and little like corn. The tiny ting 2 pieces of lobster and the 5 kernels of corn did not help. On the other hand, the gnocchi was wonderful. The brandy sauce worked well. My friends loved their ravioli and skirt steak. The paella was a bit salty. Thus overall it should have been a four but the service was not 4 star. The waitress knew nothing about the menu or drinks. Could not remember who ordered what. And failed to refill drinks. I don't blame the waitress I blame the management and bad training. Also, they seemed more concerned about me wearing a baseball cap than on their service. If I go to a fancy restaurant and I am asked to remove my cap, I don't mind. But if I go to place where the waiters are not to par with the dress code, I have to say something. Otherwise is like going to the Olive Garden and being told you need a jacket. My suggestion: food is good, work on training! Then when you have good food and good service and a packed house, then worry about your dress code. I have had much better with my cap on !!!
WATCH THE PRICES ON YOUR BILL.. We've been here many times - usually in the summer for the outdoor terrace and have enjoyed it - that's why we were back again on Saturday evening with two friends. However this meal left a bad taste in our mouths...
After 4 appetizers, 4 mains, 3 desserts and 2 bottles of wine, we asked for the check. The bill was presented and we noticed that the wine was 25% more on our bill than stated on the Wine List (which is not inexpensive to start with).
We questioned the price and the waiter went to check with "the boss". He quickly returned with the announcement that our bill was correct and that Mattar just hadn't changed the prices on the menu yet!
Well, it went down hill from there. They didn't adjust our bill and we'll not return.
