Sushi roll was okay and my daughter enjoyed her burger. But a little overpriced for what it is.

First time here and didn't know what to expect. My husband and I came in for dinner he ordered the fish tacos, which were good and a very generous size for all three of them. I ordered a an item from the specials menu..a pasta with truffle, peas, mushrooms and salmon and it was the most delicious pasta and in a very long time. They need to keep this on their menu instead of on a special because I could come back for this over and over again! It was amazing!! Service was great and atmosphere was peaceful inside and live music outside which is good to have a choice. Well definitely come back! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–40

I have been going to Max's Grille regularly for almost 30 years because the food is consistently great as well as the service. I remember for all those years when the breadsticks & hummus were placed on our table free of charge. I have probqably sat at every table in the place over the years. However, last night was a real disappointment. We decided to grab a coffee at 8 PM (on a Sunday) and arrived over 30 minutes before closing. We brought our dog and sat outside. It seemed that we were the only people in the entire restauraunt - definitely no diners outside. It took 5 minutes to be greeted by Eli and we told him we were here for coffee & dessert. We asked for a dessert menu and ordered 2 cappuccinos. After looking over the menu, we asked his opinion and he pushed us to the Butter Cake. Then the drinks arrived and they were both lukewarm, so we asked for hot cappuccinos. 2 minutes later we were served hot cappuccinos and they tasted like the original batch were thrown in a microwave rather than bringing us fresh drinks. Then he brought the Butter Cake. I am not a fan of heated cakes and these were extremely hot with 2 scoops of coconut ice cream covered by hot fudge & caramel toppings. The toppings also covered the cake and it was like eating pure sugar - way too sweet for my taste. And it only took 3 minutes for the ice cream to melt into the cake and we were left with a soggy cake with way too much sugary toppings. OK, I get it, we ordered the wrong dessert. We also asked for water for the dog which never was served. Then he brought the bill and it was over $40. $40 for 2 coffees anbd a dessert. I noticed the price for the BUtter Cake was $26. Eli stated that the dessert was indeed $26 as printed on the menu. I asked to see the menu and I realized that the price of the butter cake was hidden in the description unlike all the other dessert items where the price was off to the right side & easly visible. I felt this was very deceptive - the one dessert that costs twice what the others cost has its price hidden in the description, So I spent almost $50 for a dessert that was wrong. I would have enjoyed the cheesecake or cream brulee pie much more. I even feel that this dessert was suggested because it WAS the most expensive. Don't get me wrong, I will continue to come back. This one experience will not negate 30 years of great service. But, I will never come so close to closing time and I will make certain of the price before ordering. I did look at the prices of the desserts and to me they cost between $9 - $15. The $26 choice had it's price intentionally buried in the description - NOT NICE. And we got mediocre cappuccino's that tasted like they were reheated and in addition to pushing the most expensive item, the service was lousy. And it was not nice to ignore our request for water for the dog. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1 Meal type: Other Price per person: $40–50
$$$$ Price range per person $20-$60
