Nestled on Gewan Island, Maya Jah in Doha is an intriguing destination for those craving Indian and Mediterranean cuisine. The restaurant invites guests for both lunch and dinner throughout the week, operating daily from 12:00 PM to midnight. With limited listings in popular restaurant directories, its presence remains understated except for a minimal profile on Tripadvisor.
Diners have remarked on the restaurant’s stylish decor and remarkable waterfront views, complemented by an enjoyable ambience. The cuisine receives praise for rich flavors and appealing presentation, although some guests note that portion size relative to cost may require consideration. The attentive staff, particularly notable service from an employee named Arif, augment the dining experience. Maya Jah offers conveniences like outdoor seating, free WiFi, and table service, while accepting major credit cards such as American Express, Mastercard, Visa, and Discover. However, further details about the menu or pricing remain scarce due to limited owner-provided information.

A luxurious Indian restaurant located on Gewan Island. The interior features mirrored walls, creating a spacious and elegant atmosphere. Even the outdoor terrace is equipped with air conditioning, making it a very comfortable place to dine. Another nice touch is that the restaurant has its own restroom facilities, adding to the overall convenience. Mr. Arif provided excellent service and demonstrated impressive knowledge of Indian cuisine. He carefully asked about our preferred spice level and offered helpful recommendations throughout the meal. Since we were not very familiar with Indian desserts, he recommended the saffron ice cream. Rich, creamy, and full of flavor, it is definitely a must-try when visiting the restaurant. For starters, we ordered the fried okra, which was crispy and delicious. The addition of pomegranate seeds was a unique touch that added both freshness and texture. For the main course, we had the vegetable biryani. It was mildly spicy on its own, but when paired with the raita, the flavors became perfectly balanced and very enjoyable. If you’re looking for authentic Indian cuisine on Gewan Island, this restaurant is highly recommended. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: QAR 100–150 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I had a wonderful experience at the restaurant, thanks to Mita and Rara. They were both incredibly helpful, attentive, and made sure everything was just right throughout our visit. Their friendly attitude really added to the overall atmosphere. The food was also very enjoyable — everything we tried was delicious and well-prepared. Combined with the excellent service, it made for a truly pleasant dining experience. I would highly recommend this place to everyone — it’s a must-visit! If you don’t come, you’re definitely missing out. Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Maya Jah truly impressed us on every level. The butter chicken was rich, perfectly balanced, and incredibly flavorful, and the grilled dishes — especially the lamb — were exceptional, tender, and beautifully seasoned. A real highlight was the biryani, which arrives in a beautiful pot sealed with bread that you cut open yourself — a fantastic presentation and even better taste. Every bite was aromatic and comforting. The cocktails were delicious, creative, and well crafted, complementing the food perfectly. What really sets Maya Jah apart is the service. The staff is attentive, warm, and genuinely welcoming. A special mention to Chef Kenny, who personally comes to the table, checks in with guests, and clearly takes great pride in his food — a wonderful and memorable touch. An excellent dining experience from start to finish. Highly recommended — we will definitely be back!
