This restaurant is famous for offering Irish cuisine. You will enjoy its food, especially perfectly cooked chicken curry, potato soup and bacon. It's time to try good pancakes, pudding and French toasts. Come to McKenna's for delicious whiskey. Take your chance to taste great irish tea, coffee or juice.

McKenna's Kitchen & Market, formerly the Irish Shop, is a sincere nod toward the fact that there are more people in Havertown who claim to be Irish, than there are in Ireland. Sitting on the corner of Darby Rd. and Marthart Ave. this Havertown staple is a twinkling jewel kissed by Emerald Isle. The decor inside of McKenna’s is reminiscent of a rustic farmhouse B&B somewhere in the Irish country side. Our Sunday morning visit found clean tables & surfaces, non-rushed friendly service and an authentic Irish menu. I should point out that Ireland is not famous for good coffee; and thankfully this is one place where McKenna’s allowed their authenticity to slip. The coffee is outstanding and the mug is bottomless. The waitresses take turns walking through the dining room pouring coffee into any mug in need. I had the pancakes and black pudding and my companion had an egg sandwich on an everything-bagel. While the food did not come out at the same time, it did come out when it was ready - meaning when it was hot. Breakfast was delicious, and our server, Savanna, was charming. McKenna’s is relaxing, friendly and inviting. If it weren’t for the fact that there were people waiting we would have spent the rest of our morning drinking coffee and enjoying the atmosphere each other’s company. Breakfast for two was reasonably priced. Outdoor seating is available and desirable. McKenna’s Kitchen & Market is a destination in Havertown, don’t miss out.TheBillo313
