Unfortunately I can only give my beef burger 3 stars because the patty was more like a ball than a flat patty and was very, very cooked or almost burnt. It's a shame, it had potential. The fries were good . The lunch buffet and breakfast buffet were also quite okay and had enough choice. Service: Dine in Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3

Overcooked and mushy buffet lunch. Came here on a booked day trip - would not select the place myself. Hunger was satisfied, but the cooking standards require an upgrade. Staff and facilities were alright, fix the basics with the food. Meal type: Lunch Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

Some friends and I were staying at Eurong and decided to splurge one night and eat out instead of cooking for ourselves.After taking some time to check out our options, we settled on McKenzie's restaurant, as it had some lovely pictures of fresh seafood, appetizing salad and fresh fruit.We made a booking and showed up for our dinner buffet.What we were presented with was a feast that would rival a dinner served to prisoners after a stint of good behaviour.The pork belly was the only edible thing on the menu, and it ran out immediately. We waited for more, only to find that we were instead treated to a soggy platter of packaged dim sims.The prawns were clearly pre-packed and defrosted. Pulling a head off one rewarded me with pungent water dripping from its corpse. I feel sorry for the prawn. Not because it died, but because it ended up at McKenzie's.One member of our party scouted the buffet and decided instead to opt for a pizza. Good on him, I thought, an independent soul who would no doubt be rewarded with something that wasn't so carelessly churned out for the masses.As my girlfriend constantly tells me, though, I'm not as clever as I think I am, and neither was this friend. He was served a pizza that suspiciously resembled something found in the frozen aisle of Coles. Not to say that Coles pizzas are bad, but I usually resort to them at 1am on a Saturday morning while on the couch in my underpants. I expect a little more when I spend $24.50.The dessert would be the saving grace, I knew it. After all, it's not hard to stuff up fruit and cake, right? Fear not, dear reader, for McKenzie's can let you down in that regard as well. Packet mix mousse and sticky date pudding, cold-in-the-middle lava cakes and pineapple pulled straight from a tin (and left to stew in its own juices) are standard fare.The icing on the cake was that at the end of the meal, as we were preparing to leave, one of the chefs brought out a tray of roast chicken, which upon first inspection seemed ok, but on closer look was pallid, bland, and drowned in what I can only guess was a masterfoods packaged spice mix.At at the end of the day I have to thank McKenzie's restaurant. Because of them, we had a good solid hour of bonding, fondly reminiscing about the inedible slop we were served.I haven't experienced the inevitable bowel movement that McKenzie's will surely stir in me just yet, but if I can hold out for another few hours, it'll be a hell of a way to ring in 2019.
