A local hidden gem! Meat Flour Wine is one of my all time favourite Italian restaurants. The food is always consistent here and the staff are just so friendly. Their menu is filled with variety but their housemade pastas and wood fired pizzas are a definite must try! The atmosphere is perfect for a catch-up with friends as well as for date nights! Highly recommend!

Took 6 of my sales and trade staff to one of our quarterly dinners here and it was a very mixed experience to say the least. One of them ordered the carbonara and wasn't impressed with it. Another blue collar worker (i.e. tradie) wanted some guidance from the waitress about a particular steak which I'm sure he never would have ordered had he known that that steak (i.e. one steak) and two sides would come to the grand total of $185. The waitress should have pointed that out as the pricing wasn't clearly shown or easily understood on the menu. Instead, following her very vague guidance, she promptly made sure he ordered the most expensive steak on the planet. As you can imagine, the bill that I received amounted to around $110 per head. And as if that wasn't enough, because I paid with a debit card, another $13 appeared on top of the already exorbitant price in my bank account, but not on the invoice I was given. That was showing an amount $13 lower, which was not what I paid. Meat, Flour & Wine must think they are the best steakhouse in Melbourne. Guess what? They're not, and I won't be going there again.
