I guess the concept here is “fine dining meets scavenger hunt.” The service was impressively bad. My daughter repeatedly tried to get the waiter’s attention, but he seemed committed to pretending she didn’t exist. Since I was seated with my back to him, every request required me to awkwardly twist around because apparently checking on your table isn’t part of the experience. The truffle pasta arrived undercooked and desperately needed salt. Unfortunately, there wasn’t any on the table, so my meal gradually turned cold while I waited and waited for the waiter to finally stop avoiding us long enough for me to ask for some. I also requested extra napkins. They never appeared. Instead, I was told to use the single napkin wrapped around the utensils. Luxury. My daughter asked for ketchup with her fries. Rather than bringing enough, the waiter delivered two tiny packets at a time like they were made of gold. By the end, we’d received 7–8 single-serve packets—and discovered they added up to €10.50 on the bill. Charging for ketchup is your choice. But maybe mention that before repeatedly bringing more? And perhaps skip the smug attitude while doing it. In the end, €41.50 bought us one undercooked truffle pasta, one order of fries, one small sparkling water, a handful of ketchup packets apparently worth their weight in truffles, and some of the worst service we’ve had in Croatia. At least now I know the most expensive item on the menu isn’t the truffle pasta—it’s ketchup. Price per person: €20–25 Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 4
