Today I visited Mediteraneo Bar in Rovinj, a place I have loved for years and have always considered magical, relaxed, and unique. Unfortunately, today’s experience completely changed that impression. A waiter approached us with a cold, rigid attitude and told us that we were not allowed to speak loudly on the phone. That’s perfectly fine—we respect the rules—but the way he spoke to us was completely inappropriate for a place that presents itself as a laid-back Mediterranean bar. A few moments later, the same waiter approached a group of eight young German women and told them they were not allowed to use three small tables but had to squeeze around two, even though the tables are only about 50 × 50 cm. He also told one of the women to put her leg down. His attitude was cold, unfriendly, and completely lacking in hospitality. The women were visibly confused and even considered leaving without ordering anything. I encouraged them to ignore the situation and enjoy the beautiful view because we had just experienced something very similar ourselves. This review is not about being reminded of a rule. It is a genuine question for the owner: Is this really the kind of service you want your guests to experience? Is it normal for people to feel as though they are being constantly monitored instead of welcomed? Mediteraneo is not a luxury restaurant with formal etiquette. People sit on rocks and simple outdoor furniture, which has always been part of its relaxed charm. Sadly, the only thing we felt today was discomfort. The view is still breathtaking, but because of the attitude of the staff, this was the first time I left feeling disappointed. Service: 1

Dear Biljana, we are sorry to hear about your experience. The new house rules are created for less than 5 % of our visitors who pretend to be at their own or public beach where they can behave as they want ruining the atmosphere to other guest and disturbing the vibe of entire place. Anyway we will consider your observation and try to protect the common special environment from those who don’t respect it even better. Thank you

Lovey little Mediterraneo Cocktail Bar in Rovinj , Croatia down by the water. Small rugged feel. Really nice to have a relaxing time with Friendly service . Price per person: €10–15 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
