Trust the van at the side of the road. Stopped by on a walk this afternoon after eyeing up the Butty box for a while, left with what was one of the best breakfast sandwiches you could get at the side of the road. I chose a bacon, sausage and egg butty with ketchup, rocking in at £5.60 (two fillings in at £4 odd, an additional increases the cost). Freshly cooked in front of you and tastes as good as it smells. I'll be honest, there's only so much you can expect from a sandwich, but Mel's delivers. Bacon & fried egg cooked to your liking with sausage on top of a soft bread cake. Most takeaway sandwiches fall victim to greasy bacon or leaky sauce, making it a mess to eat and heavy on the stomach, thankfully, Mel's is neither of these things. Mel's hits the spot and is worth the walk (or drive by) if you're out and about Greenfield. You can see why simple, tasty and effective has kept the van going for over a decade.
