They don’t let customers sample the ice cream themselves. The manager confirmed it’s a corporate policy: only employees are allowed to fill the tiny paper sample cups by hand, and you’re limited to three flavors per customer. Ironically, the employees aren’t even wearing gloves while handling the sample cups. In most ice cream shops, customers simply take a clean disposable tasting spoon or paper sample cup themselves, making the process both more hygienic and more efficient. This has to be one of the most ridiculous, unhygienic, and cheap corporate policies I’ve ever encountered at an ice cream shop.

Menchie's Frozen Yogurt, a national chain, provides a wide selection of flavors, including, sugar free, gluten free, and vegan.Ashley, the store manager, runs a tight ship. She attended Menchie's College, located in Encino, California, a couple of miles from my house. The college has a retail store and I and my granddaughter visit it often.The yogurt machines and the shop are well maintained. The selection of flavors are broad and includes vanilla, chocolate, and many fruits. The yogurt machines will mix two flavors automatically. Toppings includes cookies, fresh fruits, candy and chocolate and marshmallow sauces. Your order is weighed to determine cost.Seating is offered inside, in air-conditioned comfort or outside under the umbrella covered patio tables.Parking is free but can be limited. Everything, including the bathrooms are wheelchair accessible.
