We’ve been coming here on and off for about 2.5 years — it’s the only froyo spot in Bothell, so we keep giving it chances. There seems to be a recurring pattern with staffing: almost every visit features the same dynamic — one employee who’s pleasant and quiet, and one who’s rude, visibly put-out, and has no customer service instincts. Whether it’s the same person each time or just a consistently bad hire, the result is the same. We came in 5/10/26 about 20 minutes before the 9pm closing time — not alone, there were other customers behind us. The shop was already mid-teardown: trays pulled from machines, the serving aisle partially blocked. The advertised fruit flavor was unavailable because the machine had already been packed up. If the store closes at 9, it should be running until 9. What made the visit memorable for the wrong reasons: I spotted several unlabeled cups of yogurt sitting in the freezer alongside the cakes. No label, no signage, nothing to indicate they weren’t available to customers. I picked one up, saw it was the sorbet I’d originally come in for, and assumed (reasonably) that it was set out to avoid waste. I took it to the toppings bar. Within seconds, the shift lead (?) approached me (blonde, looks about 25-30, heavier set) and passive-aggressively asked if I’d taken it from the fridge. When I said yes, she told me it was hers. I immediately apologized and offered it back — she declined and walked away. A few issues: (1) An unlabeled personal item in a customer-accessible refrigerator during business hours is a foreseeable problem. (2) The reaction — passive-aggressive, no acknowledgment that the confusion was entirely avoidable — reflects poorly on someone in a lead role. (3) The priority during open hours should be serving customers, not the closing checklist or personal snacks. Ownership may want to look at the staffing dynamic here.
